My Dad Thinks Tattoos Get Girls
Project Type: AI-Assisted Comedy Short
Role: Concept Development, Storyboarding, Creative Direction, Video Editing
Format: Vertical social media video
Project Overview
This short comedy video turns a simple father-and-son conversation into a playful piece of tattoo-related content. The father attempts to offer dating advice, confidently suggesting that tattoos help attract women. Underneath the joke, the video lands on a more genuine message: tattoos do not create confidence, but feeling comfortable with yourself can make a difference. (YouTube)
Creative Process
The project began with the basic idea of a father taking his son to the river to share some questionable life advice. From there, we developed the dialogue, comedic timing, characters, setting, and individual camera shots.
The production process included:
Writing a short script with a clear hook, humorous exchange, and final takeaway.
Designing the father and son characters before creating the scenes so their appearance remained consistent.
Establishing the riverside environment and visual style.
Planning the video shot by shot, using a combination of wide shots, medium shots, close-ups, and reaction shots.
Creating detailed image prompts that described character placement, facial expressions, lighting, environment, and camera angle.
Using AI-assisted image and video tools to build and animate the scenes.
Selecting the strongest generations and arranging them into a cohesive sequence.
Editing the footage to tighten the pacing, strengthen the joke, and make the conversation feel natural.
Adding dialogue, sound, captions, music, and finishing touches for social media delivery.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was maintaining consistency between AI-generated shots. Character features, clothing, environment, screen direction, and emotional reactions all needed to remain recognizable throughout the video. Careful shot planning and detailed visual prompts helped the separate generations feel like parts of the same scene rather than unrelated clips.
Final Result
The finished video combines storytelling, comedy, tattoo culture, and AI-assisted production in a short, entertaining format. It demonstrates my ability to take an initial idea through scripting, visual development, storyboarding, generation, editing, and final delivery.

Vertical Version
I also created a vertical version of the video specifically for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
The original composition was adapted to a 9:16 format, with shots reframed to keep the characters, expressions, and important visual details inside the mobile viewing area. Captions, pacing, and scene placement were also adjusted to make the video easier to follow on a phone screen.
This version demonstrates my ability to repurpose one concept for multiple platforms while preserving the story, humour, and overall production quality.

Naturehike Cloud Up 2 Tent Unboxing — Small Tent, Big Plans
Project Type: Product Unboxing and Personal Storytelling
Role: Concept Development, Scriptwriting, On-Camera Presentation, Filming and Video Editing
Format: YouTube Video
Project Overview
For this project, I created an unboxing and first-look video featuring the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 tent. Rather than producing a standard product demonstration, I connected the tent to a larger personal story about rebuilding my life, spending more time outdoors, and preparing for future adventures. (YouTube)
The goal was to make the video informative while allowing my personality and reasons for purchasing the product to remain at the centre of the story.
Creative Process
The project began by identifying the main points I wanted to communicate: what I purchased, why I chose it, what was included, and how it fit into my future outdoor plans.
We then developed a script that gave the video structure without making the presentation feel overly rehearsed. The script included an opening hook, the unboxing, my initial observations, personal commentary, and a closing that connected the product to the bigger journey.
Before filming, I organized the tent and recording area so each part of the unboxing could be shown clearly. I filmed the presentation myself, speaking directly to the camera while opening the package and examining the equipment.
The production process included:
Developing the original video concept and angle.
Researching and organizing the important product talking points.
Writing a conversational script and opening hook.
Planning the order of the unboxing and demonstration.
Setting up the camera, lighting and filming area.
Presenting the video on camera.
Capturing additional close-up footage of the packaging, tent and included components.
Editing the main presentation and supporting footage together.
Removing pauses and tightening the pacing.
Adding titles, captions, music and other finishing elements.
Preparing the final video for publication on YouTube.
Filming Approach
Because I was both presenting and filming the project, the setup needed to remain practical while still providing enough visual variety to maintain the viewer’s attention.
The main camera footage established the personal connection with the audience, while closer product shots allowed viewers to see the tent and its components more clearly. These additional shots also helped cover edits and create a smoother, more professional final presentation.
The Challenge
The main challenge was balancing useful product information with personal storytelling. Too much technical detail could make the video feel like a basic review, while too much personal commentary could distract from the tent itself.
The final structure allowed the product to drive the video while the larger story gave viewers a reason to become invested in what the tent represented.
Final Result
The finished video is both a product-focused unboxing and the beginning of a larger outdoor adventure story. It demonstrates my ability to develop an idea, write a structured but natural script, appear on camera, film my own content and shape the raw footage into a complete YouTube video.
Skills Demonstrated:
